Rector's Message

My Dear  Friends in Christ

“The Leaven” greets you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus  Christ who  taught  us,  not only the importance of prayer, but also how to pray.

We should always focus on prayer, but during the Lenten Season, ii is more intensified. A wonderful illustration of Prayer is found in what  we know  as The Lord’s Prayer.  Another good example is that found in St. John’s Gospel, Chapter 17, known as “The High Priestly Prayer of Jesus.” Please read and study it.

The story is told of a boy named Peter, who was saying his prayers. During his talk with God, he said  to the Lord, “And please make Cyril give up throwing stones at me. By the way, I’ve mentioned this before.”

I’m  sure you feel  like Peter sometimes; that your prayers are not answered and that you have to remind God because he might have forgotten.

Essentially, God has three responses to our prayers. And at any time he may respond with either one of  them.

Know those three responses, and apply them to every prayer, and you’ll have no difficulty in knowing what answer the Lord has given to your pleadings.

Prayer is our lifeline, and we cannot survive without regularly communicating with our Creator, Provider, and Savior.

Do have a spiritually rewarding Lenten Season, and may your prayer life be intensified even more than ever before.
