How We Serve

Knowing and depending on our God-given gifts, we are encouraged to serve, giving our time, talent and treasure.

Worship — Sunday liturgical support groups like Altar Guild, Lay Readers, Chalice Bearers, Acolytes, and Music Ministry, are important parts of the worship team.

Discipleship — Teaching, training and fellowship programs for high school up; men and women ministries, ordination discernment; and adult education classes are in this group of ministries. Adult Bible study on Wednesdays at Noon.

Outreach — Daily breakfast for the poor (Monday through Saturday, 8 - 9 AM), Wednesday morning worship (7:30 - 8 AM), Homeless Coalition, counseling, job referral, computer literacy training, and campus ministry for students at Fayetteville State University.

Fellowship — Community dinner after church on the first Sunday of the month.

Pastoral Care — Hospital visitation, senior care visitation ministries, support groups for various needs, and seminars on tough life issues all help us to become a healing family of believers.

Family & Children's Ministry — Sunday School and sermons for young children are a part of our family ministry.

Stewardship — The Vestry, Men of the Church, and Women of the Church provide opportunities for service that allow the church family to grow in the overall ministry in Facility Improvement/Maintenance, Finance, Resource Development, and New Facilities Development.

Personnel — The Vestry, Men of the Church, and Women of the Church lead and enable ministry within St. Joseph's Episcopal Church.  We care for and assist people to be the best that they can be in service to the congregation and the community.

Administration — The Rector and members of the congregation carry out all administrative functions.
